You are the Sales Enablement Manager for your company, and you have just heard from your seniors that the launch date for a new product has been fixed for 2 months from now.
The news is exciting, but also a little stressful! A new product launch means that you are in charge of ensuring that all the sales teams are properly trained on the new product and are completely sales-ready.
In this situation, how will you leverage the Streamz app to the best advantage?
That's what we will be talking about in this case study.
Step 1 - Creating the Main Stream
The first step in making sure that your people are sales-ready is to see that they have all the information they need to learn about the new product.
Here's what you should do to create a really great stream:
1. Create a topic list
Before you start writing the content, list all the topics you need to include in the stream. This should be as exhaustive as possible so that you don't miss any important information.
This is our suggestion for the topics that you should include:
- Product overview
- Features
- Benefits
- Special characteristics (if any)
- Product USPs (Unique Selling Points)
- Suggested sales pitch
2. Divide your content into Sections
The topic list that you have made will guide how you divide your content into Sections while creating the stream on the platform.
Don't forget to tag your content with the right Objectives and Skills.
3. Gather resources like product images, PDF docs, videos, etc.
To create an effective stream, you will need resources like the images of your product, other illustrative images, and videos, if any. You may also want to attach a PDF of the product brochure. You should put together these resources in advance so that it becomes easier for you to make the cards.
4. Create the cards
You have 12+ content templates to choose from, so use them well! Use different templates for different types of content.
Remember to use all the best practices of content like:
- Meaningful titles for your Stream, Sections & Cards
- Use clear and concise language
- Highlight the important information in each card
- Use appropriate images to illustrate the content
- Use videos whenever you can
5. Add learning questions
Learning questions are an important aid to the learning process. Use these to build in those reflective pauses and don't forget to add an explanation of the right answer.
6. Assessment questions
Once users have gone through the learning content, you would want to test their understanding with an assessment.
Have enough questions for the assessment to be meaningful, but having too many may overwhelm the user. You should strike a good balance.
Again, there are 10+ question templates for you to choose from. So don't restrict yourself to only the MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) template.
Step 2 - Creating Refresher Streams
Once users have gone through the main content stream, you will want them to remember the details of the new product.
It's a good practice to have 2-3 refresher streams which you can publish every week after the main stream has been viewed.
Your refresher streams can highlight 1-2 main aspects of the new product that you want users to remember.
Step 3 - Teaser Streams
Now a new product launch will be a big event for your organization! You would want all your salespeople to be excited and be eager to know more about it.
Sending a few Teaser Streams before the main product stream is published will help you build up anticipation and hype around the new product launch. These typically won't be more than 1-2 cards each.
Here are a few tips for Teaser streams that you can use:
- Space your teaser streams out. You can publish a stream 1 day, 3 days, and 7 days before you publish the main product stream.
- Your teaser stream can contain messages like "Coming Soon!" or a Countdown.
Step 4 - Question Bank for Knowledge Checks
Using Knowledge Checks is a great way to continuously refresh the users' knowledge.
As you know, you can schedule automatic Knowledge Checks to go out every day, every week, or every month.
It's a good practice to create a question bank from where these Knowledge Checks can be drawn. Make sure you have a large enough repository of questions so that the system can generate the maximum number of unique question sets.
Step 5 - Schedule & Publish Your Content
When you have created all your content, it's time to publish! You can schedule all the content to be published on specific dates in advance.
