Did you know that the effectiveness of your content increases tremendously when you use different media to communicate ideas?

This is why, the Streamz platform offers you a variety of content templates to choose from! The templates allow you to use different types of media, so that you can address the needs of people with different learning styles.

So let’s take a look at the Streamz content templates and learn how to use them.

1. Image Text Card

A picture speaks a thousand words, and that’s why our Image Text card is one of the most popular templates on the platform.

Use the image and the text in tandem with each other, to explain concepts in an easy to understand way.

However, you should also realize that the image you use should illustrate the point that you are making in your text. If the image does not relate to the message, it might leave the users confused.

2. Multi Image Card

What do you do when using one image is not enough to illustrate your point?

You use the Multi Image card of course! This works exactly like the Image Text card, except it accommodates two images. And also two text spaces.

You can use this template when you are explaining two steps in a process, or showing a transition between two states.

The downside of this template is that it makes the card quite long, which defeats the purpose of bite sizing.

So use this template wisely.

 3. Text Card

As the name suggests, this template accommodates only text.

Use this template when you are giving follow up explanation to a concept, or as part of a reading exercise.

As this is uses only a single medium – text – if you have a lot of it on a single card, it can cause user fatigue.

Use multiple cards instead of putting a large amount of text on a single card.

4. Video Card

Here is when things get exciting! Adding video to your content will automatically grab attention, and aid in retention too.

This template works by embedding a YouTube video into the card. All you need to do is type in the URL of the YouTube video you want to use in the space provided.

There is also a text box for you to add further content if needed.

 5. Image Text Side-by-Side

Sometimes you will need to represent a list of items creatively with images. That is when the Image Text Side-by-Side template will come in handy.

You can upload up to 5 images, and then add explanations for each image.

 6. Table and Text Card

This is a useful template when you need to show a data table.

But you must remember that your table needs to be easily read on a mobile screen. Which means, data with too many columns will look cluttered.

Here also, bite sizing is the key. So your rows also need to be limited.

 7. Extract from PDF

Are you making cards out of content that has already been created?

The good news is that with the Extract from PDF template, you can create cards out of content you might have in PDF format. Just choose the PDF file you want, and Streamz will convert each page / slide into an Image Text card.

A word of caution though. The content that you have on every page / slide of your PDF will get converted into an image – that includes the text that you have on that page as well.

As with the normal Image Text template, you can now add text in the box provided.

8. Extract from URL

Is there a website or a blog, from where you want to extract information for your card? No problem! You can do that using the Extract from URL template.

All you need to do is specify the URL you want to extract from. Streamz’s AI will intelligently pick up a summary from the site, and present you with 3 summary options. You can then choose the one that is most appropriate.

Your card is created in the Image Text template, so you can always edit the text and change the image. The card will automatically contain a link to the main source.

Use this card when you want to point your users to information on a particular URL, but want to give a context in your card first.

9. Twitter Feed

This template allows you to embed the Twitter feed of any handle into your card.

The card then automatically updates the information, whenever there are any new tweets on the handle.

Use this template when you want to give your users live updates from a trusted source.

 10. Hero Image

Use this card when your image does all the talking, and there is no need for text.

Typically, the Hero Image card is used as the front piece of a stream, or when there is an image with detail that requires more space.

11. Activity Card

You will use the Activity card, to import an activity into your stream.

You will learn more about our platform’s Activity related functions in subsequent streams.

12. Import Card

Among the different card templates, you will also find an option to "Import Card".

This option allows you to import a card that you have created in a different stream, into the stream you are now creating.
